This one is for the “A Word A Week Photograph Challenge – Flower” – wildflowers from Mackay, Queensland, Australia. These flowers were in the middle of a very dry “wetlands”. We are just coming into the wet season here (had our first storm 2 days ago) and in a few weeks the wetlands should be in full bloom again.

Thanks Skinny (or would you prefer Wench!),
Yes, it was quite a standout in an almost all white forest! I am looking forward to going back in a few weeks after the rains and there should be a lot more plant and wildlife there then – at the moment the “wetlands” are as dry as a bone.
